nice how fast the shows come after the broadcast now

    • Jasmine

Gogogogo power of the new studio. :D

  • http://www.volitle.com Kieran

    Damn that is fast 0.0

  • derrick

    Garry look at the camera!!!!!
It feels like your more interested in your solitaire game than sanctum or Legendary

  • Shilofax

    :D

I slept through the show this week :(

    • Jasmine

The new schedule is throwing everyone for a loop. XD

  • Gardiac

Dark Age of Camelot had instances that you could run solo, or with a few people. The whole place scaled, and the goals of the instances changed between a few different things : kill a boss, explore the whole dungeon, clear everything, etc. Was a fantastic addition to the game, and Rift will likely put a new twist on it and make it more modern. I am excited for the Chronicles!

    • Jasmine

Gahhh I’m so sorry I missed out on DAoC back in the day. That sounds *awesome.* I really don’t think I would have guessed “single/duo instances” when considering the future of RIFT and now that they’re on the table I’m unreasonably excited about them. :D

  • Mallace

lol one episode they talk about me I am sleeping. Well anyways 1.4 looks to be very soon.

    “”AndrewK
There is no way to get that achievement in phase 4. However, in phase 5 (the final phase which will last until patch 1.4) there will be a way to get it that is accessible to all.”"”"”"”"”"”"

    Great Episode!

OMG. OMG. Just a string of OMG right here. Wow. Totally unexpected. I was thinking this Waves of Madness event was kind of a way for Trion to extend 1.3 and slow down the content releases slightly. I stand absolutely corrected and I am *SO* happy to be wrong.

Bring on new Whitefall Steppes! :D

    • lyck

      LOL Mallace gz ;)

I was able to get into Planetouched Wilds, sorta, they basically put a bubble around the inner part of the zone, you can still find a spot to get into the zone, but you can’t actually get down in it to see anything. Ember Isle has been blocked off by an invisble wall out in the water so thats not accessible anymore either :( Planetouched Wilds looks fantastic though, I put my draw distance on max and I was able to see sort of a river delta area with a city in the distance as well as some smaller village type areas. I am HOPING this place may be something like the idea I pitched back in beta where cities are completely under the control planar invasions and you have to taken them back but its also an open world pvp zone, and taking a city is somewhat akin to taking a castle or keep in warhammer/daoc. Way to early to say for sure, but a man can dream.

    • http://irljasmine.com Jasmine

You saw a city? Jealous! XD This can not release soon enough – I’m dying for a new area to explore and just play around in at 50! Fffffffffff I hope Planetouched Wilds is in 1.4. :3

If the gear isent good know one is going to care about the solo instances, im all for story but also it has to matter for my character

        • http://irljasmine.com Jasmine

That’s absolutely going to be true for many, many players. I’m thinking if Chronicles could offer some expert-dungeon-level tokens (but less than what you would get for completing an actual expert) it might actually be appealing to players who already have decent gear. I would also like to see some more disposable uses for my marks. Some reason to keep running dungeons. :D

As a Guardian you get a quest in the Moonshade Highlands where you have to kill a few pirates and then the captain on a ship docked close to Three Springs. Btw The Sanctum is an amazing show, nice lively debates, keep up the good work guys!

    • DrunkenGrunt

the boat looks like Jabba The Hutts barge from Star Wars

      • http://irljasmine.com Jasmine

        SWTOR/RIFT crossover. BRING IT. XD

  • Ryan

Someone get lore a new camera, thats awful. But yeah, great show guys and gal keep up the great work!

    • QuintLyn

His camera is fine… His internet connection is just iffy and recently was struck by lightning.

      • http://irljasmine.com Jasmine

..hahaha. I know we’re constantly answering questions about Lore’s internet but I’m kind of loving that the reason we can give this week is STRUCK BY LIGHTNING GUYS. GBTV has the weirdest problems. xD

  • Andrew

The art for the shit kinda looks like the art style from AION. But I guess we will have to see what happens when it is textures.

    • Andrew

AION also did PvPvE, there was an instance where you would “race” a group form the other faction to the bosses and pvp as well.

    • http://irljasmine.com Jasmine

I could definitely see some Aion in the untextured art. What first came to mind for me was the Isle of Quel’danas from WoW. Which, tbh, I loved the area so I wouldn’t be upset to see some similarities. :P

  • ninjenious

irrelevant to rift but i think lore was Born to be alive (Patrick Hernandez style)

  • neverdyne

“the hardcore raiding cows” That made me laugh.

  • Elad

Didn’t Blizzard did dynamic PvP environment in arenas? Fire, lifts etc?

  • Nemy

your show always makes me tempted to get back onto rift, personally, i found it more enjoyable than wow, but alas, all my friends are still there. still great show, and i’ve been wanting content that i can complete solo or in small groups that is actually fun with decent rewards.

on that note, LOTRO also had scaling instances from memory, with adjustable difficulty, party size and level. that part of the game was really quite engaging and fun… unfortunately the rest of the game was notably not.

  • Kohana

That large open area says to me, player housing or RvR.

In DAoC, Yggdra Forest, Forest Sauvage, and Emain Macha were HUGE.
Perhaps the attack/defend points haven’t been added yet?

But I’m leaning toward player housing. That small hub of buildings was similar to the ones in DAoC where there were merchants and stuff.

  • Richard

There was an expansion for Everquest that did the same thing for the solo/duo instance dungeons, the name of the expansion escapes me atm though. Once that came out, my wife and I did that a whole lot, since it was taliored for us to play together. It was quick and there was a story weaved into them.

  • http://irljasmine.com Jasmine

That’s what excites me the most – I know a LOT of people that play with their significant others, their siblings, their best friend, or a couple really close friends. I like having the option to basically hang out with one other person and run a dungeon. I’m *so* glad this option is coming to RIFT!
