This week on GuildCast we have some details about the March patch, Johanson talks about the possiblity of a Guild Wars 2 expansion at some point and more.

We have some sad news on this episode of GuildCast. It seems that that Guild Wars 2 expansion the Korean firm predicted isn’t in the cards… for now. Colin Johanson stated in an interview that:

Expansions are definitely something that we’ll potentially look at in the future, – we don’t have a timetable on it. We’re open to it, but I think our major focus as a studio is making the living world concept as strong as we possibly can for the players that we’ve got.

So we will definitely, possibly see ArenaNet potentially looking at a Guild Wars 2 expansion in the future.

To be honest , I’ve been pacient enough with gw2. Probably the best mmo atm , but it’s time to start bashing it like hell. After you get your 100% world , everytime I log in LA , I have NOTHING literally NOTHING to do. All the gear from all the dungeons , achives and such. Current “daly” “quest”like thingies are a lackluster of nothing. Either than pvp this game is pritty much pointless after the cute dungeons. World vs world is way from good , it’s way even working somewhat normally. I’m not going to bash world vs world class balace , because that’s allmost impossible.No wvw progression , ranks , things that will make me actually work for something. Just rinning around oneshotting people and running away from karma trains. Class balance in spvp is a bigger joke than world of warcraft , wich I is a rather hard thing to achive. Classes like the necromacer are absurdly broken , and the thing is , they are not broken since the last patch , they are broken since day 1. Absurde thief and mesmer stuff both in random and tournament games. Absolutely no work to hotfix stuff. All we hear is Anet making Q&As on reddit and pvp talk and things to talk and talk and talk , yet pvp is extremely broken.They say , twinking alittlebit here and there, yet half a year later things are pritty much the same. Just look at how the pvp tournament ticket system worked out. Just look at the ammount of streams from places like twitch. There is literally nothing to hold me playing the game , as if it’s a singleplayer game. The lore went from the deep gw1 to a frendly chore-ish kindergarden blob. Going in wvw feels less impacting even than planet side 2. I have 4 absolute endgame characters , with all the gear and the skins and the stuff possably achivable , and I can’t even play my character skin in spvp. The hotjoin maps have way too many people on a map at the same time , it’s probably to give more quicker fights , but it ends up in 2 big blob clusterfuck zergs and scatered random people being destroyed.

    I can see where he is coming from. I’ve always found Guildcast/ GamebreakerTV to be a bit “soft” on Arenanet.
    
    But, I did notice Gary seem a little unconformable that weekly segments of Guildcast has become “infomercials” for the gem shop.

  You are an MMO 1%’er, meaning you are a hardcore MMO’er if you have all that, and GW2 is way more casual. Most don’t have the time or ability to accomplish what you have already. But Kudos to you! So I guess you can farm for a while, or move on to something else and come back later after a big content patch.

    I guess you have a point , still even if you don’t play as much as often , the last 6-7 months are a huge time period in wich you have probably seen more than enough. Let’s be honest , the big celebrations like chirstmas and halloween made for perfect generic monthly updates and the only non celebration update was the Lost Shores one. And yet that “endgame” island is pritty much empty despite the 2-3 ori ores. Not shure if they will make a easter theme game update , but there will be a big summer period with allmost no big celebrations. What will they fillup the game with then? Goint inside a MMO you are expecting to have big interactions with other players and game enviroments.Anet have not stated that their game is casual and people should not take seriously.

      Don’t get me wrong, I do agree with you that much of the game needs more attention, such as WvW for example that has received very little dev love in 7 months. As for empty zones, it really depends what server you are on. TC is active 24 hours in Orr and World Boss areas. They have a hardcore RP community so there is always cool stuff going on. Kaineng and Sos, and sometimes Blackgate has a lot going on in Orr during OCE time. Tier 1 and 2 have World Boss fights non stop, to the point its lagging like crazy in the NA time zone. I think Anet will do more and more to make the world matter and continue to improve it over time.

  TERA has an option to show all other players as white and black shapes. Very useful in big events etc. In GW2 they could easily make other models 2d textures and it would suit it’s graphic style. I seriously hope it will work similarly.

How would WvW Titles work? Every enemy has the generic Server name as their name? Would that be replaced with a Title under it or next to it or in place of it?

But I want Goblin Catapults. You load in the catapult, get thrown over a fort wall and if you survive the travel and landing great, your inside fighting.

Guesting should only be allowed once every 4 hours. So if you guest to a server you either stay there for 4 hours or wait the 4 hours to guest to another server.

Hopefully they can fix culling. If I remember, the Arenanet servers did not send all the npc and player data to the clients, resulting in culling. With the March fix, sound like Arenanet is upgrading their servers and pipelines to send out more data. Hopefully the client updates can handle rendering the new data.

Scott should really enjoy being a regular on TWIMMO. MMOs seem to be trending away from last years loot pinatas to new MMO using current combat styles, but with more consequential combat and events.

It’d be awesome if WvW progressions added elite abilitys for each class, for example a guardian could buff a wall or door with reflection or an elementalist could set fire to a wall that dealt DoT to the wall and players standing on it ect.

In terms of server lag for the events…What if you were guesting you could contribute to the fight, but you didn’t get the loot from the world bosses? I think this might cut the extreme number of guesting folks on world bosses (world bosses only, not dungeons).
