This week on GuildCast, Guild Wars 2 Queen’s Jubilee patch, council election results, Colin’s post about lack of permanent content, and more!
Gary Gannon is finally back and talks with Richie Procopio and Matt Visual about some… sex robots?! Apparently the Queen’s Jubilee patch brought along the Watchknights which are the female robotic protectors for the Queen alongside the Seraph and the Ministry Guards. A very… provocative-looking bunch of female robotic protectors. Well… ahem… anyways! Let’s check out a bit of the other stuff that’s in this week’s show shall we?
And The Winner Is…
Sorry #TeamGnashblade, but Ellen Kiel was the victor for that vacant spot on the Captain’s Council with 52% of the total votes in her favour. Yes, yes, I know. You can complain about it being rigged. You can complain for another recount. But you’ve gotta face facts sooner or later. Also, yes, sadly no Abaddon fractal. You’ll have to look forward to the Thaumanova Reactor. But hey! At least there’s reduced waypoint costs for the next 4 weeks!
Lack of Permanent Content
Guild Wars 2 Game Director Colin Johanson made a post in response to the frustration a lot of players had over the temporary content:
“We wanted to get to the end of the first year of GW2 with a decent amount of these events that can happen each year in our pocket, to allow our second year a lot more opportunities to lean on these while we focus on much larger projects we’ve been working on in the background. You will not see another new recurring style event in 2014 once our core portfolio of returning events have been completed with the Queens Gauntlet. You’ll already see the benefits of this as the return of Halloween, Super Adventure Box, and Wintersday has given some of our teams time to focus on other bigger projects during that time.”
Big projects eh? Hopefully that includes an expansion in the works in addition to more living story content.
All that and more…
