Good episode and terrific discussion.

And I wanted to say I love dub-step cat. Gary always finds the coolest stuff on the Interwebs. He's way better than Tosh 2.0 :)

As far as mmo hoping is concerned. Yes, I hope mmo's. I feel i have the wow crack syndrome.
I think as far as the "level cap" goes I have a different perspective. I have a baseline idea like Richie. Previous MMORPGs in my opinion that have had to raise the level cap have become clustered and have a feeling of disorder and monotony. The devs of these games have had to concentrate so much on where do we go from here with the level increase, what new skills, traits, abilities can we implement and what dungeons, raids, or "new end game" boss and battles do we create. This idea damages I think the room for expanding on the lore, the world in general. Guild Wars 2 stepped away from that problem, with their implemented level cap, and started concentrating more on the community, their players and their world. That idea I believe would help in future "expansions" instead of being boggled down with new traits, skills, abilities and how do we balance these, they have their "bugs" and have been working on them with the skills, abilities, and trait systems they currently have why change that? The idea of a progressive and changing world is far more rewarding to me as a mmorpg hopper (aka scotts idea of someone that is forever unhappy and jumping from mmo to mmo) than the idea of a "grind" to the end level cap. I would like to see in the future a continuing progessing world. ANET has gone out of its way on creating a far more complex lore dreamscape fantasy world than any company and I don't think they should have to follow any guildlines or expectations that other games have previously done or met. Guild Wars 2 is and will be known for "a truly different and out of the box designed masterpiece!"
