There’s been much gnashing of teeth about the Annual Pass rollout, we talk about who is being chosen to get in the first waves.

We know who is in early: our crack team of WoW experts. We look at the starting Pandaren experience; does it grab the attention? How does the move from neutral to Alliance or Horde work? Is this a story to really thrill every player?

The monk class comes under scrutiny, does it have serene, Kung Fu balance? Or is it an OP drunken master?

It’s snowing Warlock changes, we outline the overhaul coming to the masters of demonic magic — it looked like we had a new tank class in our midst. Ghostcrawler stomped all over that idea, but is it actually a bad one?

In pet battles each pet type will have an advantage or disadvantage against certain others, is there anything left for Blizzard to rip off from Pokemon?

Throw in some viewer questions and you have a big bag of beta presents, carefully unwrapped by Josh “Lore” Allen, Mike B aka Fony and Mike Schaffnit in this week’s Legendary.

Actually MikeB if you read the quest text in Westfall wel enough you see that Varian sent supply wagon after supply wagon to Westfall to try to help, they kept getting jacked by Vanessa so she could encourage people to hate on the Military and attack them. So while some of the guards had to be a bit harsh, it wasn’t really their fault, they were just trying to keep order and make sure people survived and weren’t overrun in a mass of filth and disease.

At the start I was getting hyped I thought gary was back, since he’s the one who usually gets all pumped about the theme song and starts humming.

Not that Mike S is bad, I think we all miss Gary – Mike’s fun as well , it’s nice to have some fresh faces, and I think he does a great job.

Now moving on, it’s funny they mention using Justice points for purchasing transmog rewards, that’s pretty much all I use them for now is buying items for transmog, I’d like there to be a vendor with every model in the game that can be purchased for various amounts of points – just for convenience, or a vendor that does sell unique models for justice or something along those lines.

As Lore said, cool stuff is cool.

I also love all the Warlock changes that where supposed to happen it is really kind of a buzzkill that they’re not , but hey it’s still super early beta, lets hope they get them in – in an intelligent manner – tank balance can be a bit finicky.

I laughed just as much as the panel about the green fire and how “hard” it would be to implement - but in all reality we’re not the ones handling the tools that are used to build the game, so for all we know it could actually be pretty difficult, but as a graphics designer myself … changing colours is the easiest thing to do.

I’m all for the warlock tanking glyph, they just have to know it’s a tool to use and not a new spec, especially with the new stance the new glyph gives.

In the defense of green fire is a pain vs glyphs do it all the time, glyphs modify a single spell while green fire would need to affect incinerate, immolate, conflagrate, rain of fire, hellfire, soul fire, immolation aura, and anything else they’d add a fire effect to in the beta. It’s not as simple as it seems, that is a lot of code to change at once and at will without breaking the rest of the code.

I did get to play the beta for about 4 hours. Sadly, it is the same thing as before, and even simpler if that is even possible. It is the same rock-paper-scissors combat with no new innovations to speak of. The visual presentation of the environment is indeed better, but that isn’t much of a selling point if the rest of the game remains largely unchanged. The panda animations seemed very clunky and sloppily thrown together to me. This could just be the result of filler animations as it is a beta, so i didn’t really let this affect my over all “review” (for lack of a better word).

Now, it wasn’t all bad. I did get a mild kick of nostalgia from my WoW days years ago, and the monk class is very easy to pick up with a very shallow learning curve. (that may be good or bad depending on how you look at it) To put it bluntly, i don’t see much change. I don’t see where all the hype is coming from. If you dislike change, and just want more of the same content, you may like this expansion. If you are looking for something new and fresh, I am afraid you may be deeply disappointed.

After watching GW2 footage, reading up on the mechanics, and seeing all the little annoyances they are getting rid of, I just can’t see anything that would bring me back to WoW and pay that sub fee. GW2 just seems to be offering more, and not charging a monthly fee. I’ve done my research, and from my point of view, WoW just doesn’t seem worth it anymore.

  As I’ve posted, tired of all the folks who haven’t played wow for awhile getting beta invites. While its fine for folks to stop playing wow and look for a new game, people who don’t play wow getting beta access makes me a sad panda (joking).
  
  Looking forward to GW2, it looks gorgeous, but from the videos it seems a little shallow. The stories seem to be talking heads and dynamic events will be ignored after awhile. The WvW looks fantastic, interested in learning how to optimize your game play during the two week battles.

As a Warlock of seven years… you would think I would be ready to have anything cool or new for warlocks immediately nerfed into the ground or taken away entirely. For some reason I still let myself get excited every time though. Oh well I guess if I end up playing Panda Land I can at least tank random dungeons for a bit if the tank drops group. BTW, calling it now…Warlocks will get green fire as a reward for downing Sargeras in the last expansion.

On that note, I think blizzard is just being stupid. They want to add green fire.. but not as a glyph for some reason… so… yeah, they cant. I really dont care, but i think they should just add a glyph and thats it. If they want it to be epic, as you guys said, make it a quest reward, there, done.

Love the hating on Schaff! Seriously I like him, I think he does a great job. Yes I do prefer Gary for Legendary but that’s for the sole reason of that’s what I’m used to and have grown to it just being that way.

As for the show, good show as always! Definitely enjoyed it.

This Mike S. vs.Gary thing is really an unpleasent situation we are passing through.

IMO Mike is a better host. But the thing is don’t hate Gary. lol

He is a really nice guy and after watching some show you can really see that, but Mike S has a lot more to contribute to the show. Gary only ask questions most of the times and never says anything so it seems like his opinion is really not important. Most times he has something to say it’s to troll someone or something. People are saying important stuff and then he just interrupts and say “Working as intended” 500 times or
something, or like the show he was calling everyone all the time, not letting them actually run the show. Ok, that is sometimes funny (like the Jeopardy music), so the show doesn’t get too serious, but I guess Gary just overdoes that and it gets annoying.
I think Mike S. has a lot more to say. He has more personal experiences from the game and an actual opinion on the questions, but above anything else he let others say what they want without interfering.

well warlock may suck as tank with the glyph but think back to icc what’s his face festergut or the other ugly one boss that stack dmg increased effects when u tank him now think what a warlock can do on a encounter like that with that glyph if he can tank it for 2 stacks he would get perma 40% dmg increase for the whole encounter that seems op maybe im wrong still got some uses

I agree with Lore that the choice, between Horde and Alliance, is unbalanced and awkward, but I’d like to add another unbalanced idea.

The way they present the choices is either: “Hey, do you want to be at peace with yourself, go alliance” or “hey, I do a shitload of damage, you should join the Horde.”

I dont think that it felt werid when you had to choose between being horde or alliance, those sort of scenarios have happend many times in history were two best friends suddenly disagrees with each others ideaologies and becomes enemys.

Also the monk master DECIDED it was his turn to leave and become one with nature, that is probably why there wasnt a big drama because of his death because he chose it himself.

We are Warlocks ok? we always wanted to be Tanks when we can we always took aggro from the tank even it would wipe us, so please do make a us a Tank Blizzard, Please!
We are starving to Green Fire it’s the most fun thing to shot someone with a green fine and feel special than Mages who are a Arcane Warlock.
