MoP is getting cranked up a notch, or three.

A whopping three patches just since the last Legendary!

This week we saw new character models and new dungeons as we creep closer to max level, Mists of Pandaria testers can now hit 88. Did the new content excite the panel?

It seems Blizzard wants to help you figure out your class more, are the new tooltips a case of too much hand-holding? We discuss the ramifications for the game.

Is the cat out of the bag? Or the panda out of the collector’s edition? It seems there have been hints at what we might see in the MoP extra-swanky purchase option. What does this say about predictions of MoP being free? Will Blizz tempt you to buy the big box this time?

We have a slew of viewer questions as usual, which, as always, require some experts on hand.

Account-wide achievements would make me play on alts even more, because I could get the achievements on any character I want to play.

I guess I should not have asked the question without having an Alliance sympathizer on the panel. Lore and Mike talk about the balance of racials from a purely Horde standpoint. Horde get an AoE stun and an AoE silence to work into their rotation for annihilating casters (since I play a priest). Horde get to select DPS boost racials such berserking or blood fury. Alliance get to select from self single target racials…stoneform, shadowmeld, escape artist, gift of the naaru — none of these provide a DPS boost nor are AoE in effect. When PvP seems to focus a lot around burst damage and control — extra AoE stuns/silence and DPS cooldowns clearly favor the Horde. This is what I meant by having Blizzard consider removing or disabling them in Mists of Pandaria.

  I agree with you that Legendary needs an alliance sympathizer on their panel and I also agree that the racials for the horde vs the alliance favors the horde, however the difference isn’t a great as you might think. It was back in TBC, however I think that the racials are more balanced than they’ve ever been. I haven’t PvPed in awhile but I did PvP alot back in TBC and WotLK and, even though, I’ve only PvPed a little in Cata I’ve noticed two things that haven’t changed with the Alliance in PvP. 1. There aren’t enough healers in the BGs and not very many ally players are willing to roll healer for PvP, where as, the horde usually has healers to spare. 2. The horde players usually work as a team where as the alliance are usually more gung ho. Teamwork is the biggest obsticle that the alliance has to overcome and not so much the racials. Of couse I’m mainly referring to BGs and not arenas, my area of expertise is limited in that field. Now don’t get me wrong I’m not saying that the racials do not play a part in it, I’m just saying that it’s not as big a part as one might think.

On the topic of “How-To” tooltips, I think the well-informed (players who visit tankspot, elitist jerks, et al) don’t realize how much further ahead they are from those who aren’t.

After leveling up a new character via dungeons and seeing the staggering number of random players who don’t know how to play their class or aren’t equipped correctly, I really think that the “how-to” tooltips are kind of necessary.

You have to keep in mind that most of the bad players are those who don’t go to outside sources, so this gives them a way to not suck without having to go to outside sources.

I think the nerf to guild perks is already working (for me). I gave up trying to apply for level 25 guilds, because when you join a lot of those communities, they have their own circles from their leveling days, and it can be hard to find your place. Other than hasty hearth (which I miss dearly), the gear damage reduction upon death (for PVE) and mass summon (which is going anyway), there’s not really a guild perk that I dearly miss… I’m rather content actually. And leveling seems pretty swift anyway, a couple bars and hasty hearth will be good again!

They are the strength behind Gamebreaker and we the fans don’t fucking mind a bit of last minute tech repair. It isn’t national TV (thankfully) and the casualness is what draws alot of people. First of, about the tooltips, I dont think its bad. Lets face it, we already go see what the best rotation is and all that. I dont think this will change it, just because blizzard says use X when Y doesn’t mean that will be the best. So this will help new players and that is good.

I don’t see any bad sides to it. And if you think about it, if they do a good job with game design, when you get an ability you know what it is for… so you know how and when to use it. So makes sense to me to add the tooltip.

As for PVP POOOOOOOWAAA!! *fist to the air while guitars play in the back* It is called that since its basically power.. but the pvp version of it.. we already have power as PVE so.. if they call it anti-resiliance or “metzen’s levels” it wont be intuitive.

About the achievements, two thing, first, he means that acount wide achievements are the ones you get on char X like get a profession X to Y value. or Kill this boss or whatever. Its acount wide, everyone in the account wide.

Then there are achievements that will be like guild ones, get every class to 90. get all professions to X. Get 5 chars to 90. Have 2 chars that do X. So that on it self will make people go play alts.

Also as for FREE MOP, Lore says it will be? Then I believe it. Joking aside I was with mr B the whole time. Don’t think it will be totally free since they can do it for the anual pass and get more money, but if it is totally free, then you pay less for the CE, you pay only 35$ or something for the CE, the amount you would pay more then the normal box.

Get real guys, Gary and Mike B both want the shows to be the best as possible, and Mike B has become the obvious second in command of the entire site, so I doubt there was anything passive agressive there. I see Mike B telling me most the important news everyday anyway.

The Gannonator is our leader undoubtedly, but he is leading less from in front of the camera these days. I think this was just a case of his perfectionism showing through and some were not used to it, making a few of the followers uncomfortable.
