Legendary The World of Warcraft Show: Episode 102

Was interesting not seeing the weird tension between Olivia and Josh

    • http://www.facebook.com/radoslaw.sztejna Radoslaw Sztejna

What tension ? I have not noticed a tension here before.

    • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

I don’t see any tension, it’s just Olivia and Josh both like to talk and a variety of opinions on WoW.

    • Ravenstorm

hehe. Nah, Lore just likes Olivia. And MikeB likes her too. She’s a charismatic intelligent beautifull woman. They are guys. And oh yes, ALL THREE are blabbermouths!

  • James Couch

If I recall from past forum posts blizzard doesn’t make any money from the physical authenticators. The $6.50 price for them is what it costs to ship it. I mean how can the really make any money off them when they give 25 thousand tokens away each year as part of your blizzcon attendance package. I do believe Josh has mentioned in the past that he has 3 or 4 of them because of the gift bags from past blizzcons.

Its not hard for BLizzard to improve the security 10 fold over.  For example – different IP should automaticly lock all items on the character just like RIFT is doing.  If you then can not answer your Email to open it – or even get sent a random numbers to your phone.   Thats not what Blizzard is doing tho.  They are litterally forcing ppl to buy extra hardware cause they are not offering ANY other solutions to reduce ppl getting hacked.

Blizz actually does this. When I have gone on trips with my laptop and logged in somewhere at a hotel, my account gets locked, even AFTER putting in the authenticator number.  So I have to go through going to my e-mail and the website to unlock it.  So ya, it happens…

      • http://twitter.com/Deadalon Deadalon

Not for me – Maybe if its different country it happens but not when Im moving within my country.

        • Gamizero

no it doesn’t matter about country, the IP address change lock works if the IP is totally different..

if you’re IP just changes but it’s still part of the “pool” of IPs that belong to your ISP, then the lock doesn’t happen.  but if you change ISPs, and are given a new address with the new ISP, the lock happens..

this is a good thing, since if you had DSL and had a different IP every time you had to reconnect, then you’re account would be locked everytime as well.

    • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

No, Blizzard security system has the IP checking and SMS phone support systems.

Now it would be interesting to see if the Rift coin lock system would work.   Blizzard could allow you to long into WoW with the correct account ID and password, but if Blizzard suspects any problems, they could lock, mail, bank, chat and inventory.  Heck, they could even lock battlegrounds and professions if they suspect botting.  This would require the player to unlock the game features.

in EU store authenticator costs EUR 9,99 that is 2x more than in US.

On the next Legendary Gary should just play his guitar instead of showing the intro movie!

Of course they’re going to do housing, that’s the whole point of the farm and archaeology showroom, to test out saving unique world data for every character. Right now they’re probably just debating whether to put out a simple system of choosing which house you want and what type of shelves or waiting to develop a more free form system where you can build whatever you want. I could see them using the simple system for guild housing and holding off on player housing till the more robust system

    • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

I wouldn’t be surprised if Blizzard is testing out housing options.

The Tiller’s seems to be pushing to that area.  The “marketplace” seems to be phase for the realm, while the Farmer Yoon’s farm is phased for the player and the questing area around the village is back to a questing area phase.

  • Ravenstorm

Where is Olivia !? Gary !!
And kill all trollawyers !! Blizzard still is one of the mmo founders Tolkien style and seriously? Some guys who know law try to damage Blizz like that?
At least Blizz did something about the haxing at the time, I for one was glad tba to get an authenticator and keep my account safe(r) when no other thing could be done, at that time.
There wasn’t the two step verification yet, and Blizz tried to protect their customers.
Blizzard can’t let this slide. They must prove in court they are legit, otherwise every vulture will try to pick at them.

Is Garry’s goal on the show to troll?

  • Key Foster

Very simple. The authenticator issue is just like having a computer with no virus protection software. You don’t have to get virus protection software but it is a good level of extra security.
And even with virus protection software you can still get hacked. So having and authenticator does not guarantee, that you will not be compromised. So you can continue going online without extra protection or you can get extra protection and lower your chances of being compromised.

Player housing would be nice. I hope they add it in TESO since they put it in skyrim.

    Great show!

    LMAO at the TIBIA part@!

  • Kenny Hanks

brawlers guild = spectator mode. think about it

  • http://www.facebook.com/Maziel Mark Neale

Wasn’t 6.50 for me. Was that plus postage to Australia. Wasn’t cheap, but I think it was worth the money. Kept my account secure and unhacked whilst I was playing WoW.

Blizzard’s keyfab authenticators cost about $1.50 each to produce when purchased in bulk. It’s easily conceivable that they’ve made $26 million on authenticator sales alone and it is a hidden cost.

  • http://twitter.com/FishBaitism Fish Bait

    LOL!
Think i saw the impact of the penny when it dropped & hit Josh when Bon Jovi` song started :D

  • Krzysztof Kotarba

LOL in murica you can sue everyone for anything…

I use mobile auth, for me plastic auth is expensive cost in € or $.
For cheaters – spotlight player and perma ban. This is multiplayer game cheating is totally forbidden.
There will be no wpvp no matter what till flying mounts exist.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kris-Yeisley/554290488 Kris Yeisley

Mobile authenticator is worthless. Hackers got both your hashed password and mobile authenticator data related to your account. All they have to do is plug your authenticator data into a free program like WinAuth and they have your authentication key.

    oh man i would love a warcraft 4  =L

The coffee case was legit, not that anyone actually cares to learn that. The McDonald’s had the coffee at 180F, way above the temperature required for holding coffee to temp. When she spilled the coffee on her lap, she sustained third degree burns to her thighs and genitals. Do you know what third degree burns mean? The skin is burned off completely, leaving muscle exposed, and sometimes even burning through the muscle itself to the bone. This is not a laughing matter. And I must add, the reason coffee cups even say ‘Hot’ now is due to that case in the first place.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bill-Gerrettie-Jr/1287578323 Bill Gerrettie Jr

She didn’t receive 3rd degree burns to her legs and genitals because the coffee was too hot, she received them because she was stupid enough to put a cup of hot coffee between her legs instead of in a cup holder. Idiocy should not be rewarded, unfortunately it often is.

So either you don’t drive, or you don’t remember the days before there were cup holders in cars, and it was standard to drive with a drink between your legs. Or maybe, just maybe, you have driven with a drink between your legs, and still want to use her situation, to laugh. Idiocy can be rewarded in multiple ways, yours leads to laughter of a different sort.

Bad news Gary, your doctor lied to you! Take a burger and let it sit in your house for six years, I dare you.

  • Erik Jonsson

Hm, punnishment to arena exploiters. But not mutch is done to botters in randoms :|

  • Matthew Lovetto

Just so you know… the reason the cups say the coffee is hot is because of that woman. I believe they didnt use to
