Cover has issues, specifically but not limited to :

- Pulse detonate not fast enough for games like huttball.
- Dropping into cover on some terrain doesn't work.
- Sometimes activating talents while in cover fails because it doesn't realize you are in cover (your shield is up, but you have to move and cover again).
- All roots prevent cover (talented knockback from sorcs for instance or force charges), effectively being a half-stun against GS/Snipers.

It's not the mechanic inherently that is a problem, it's the fact that it is bugged/misbalanced. Right now it acts as sort of a stealth nerf to the class.

Ed Park is awesome but I really don't think this video talks anything to the frustrating issues level 50 PVP with a GS faces.

Thanks for replying! My apologies for not being able to remember most of the names. I thought that maybe the AS knockback was from me picking a talent, but you confirmed it, i'll have to remember that when launch arrives. It came in handy a few times, but it seemed to be more of a last-ditch, single opponent, get one last shot in before you die type of cc.

I played the gunslinger because i didn't think i would like it as much (especially in pvp) as the other classes but i ended up loving it! Thanks for the vids and busting the pvp rumors and stereotypes, I'll be watching when the game launches to see if you have any more tips!

P.S One thing i have learned from Ed's videos i wish i would have known in-game. On Alderaan the speeders can take you to any node you have captured. /facepalm!!!!

>> I played a gunslinger over the beta, and one thing I'm surprised you didn't use was the sticky grenade

You mean Sabotage Charge? I just read the tooltip over on DH, and yea, I should have used it to increase burst damage.

>> Another one is the finish attack (can't remember the name) you can only
use after your opponent is below 30%, really great finishing ability
that hits pretty hard. If you use that and aimed shot or a couple
charged bursts your practically guaranteed the kill.

You don't get Quickdraw until 18, my GS was 16.

>> I think it's the only aoe that gunslingers have. When you have a bunch
of opp's running around in front of those door's it's always useful to
toss out a frag and rack up the damage.

Agreed.

>> Even if they do get to you, just throw out a flashbang or a dirty kick.
Aimed shot can also work as a type of cc, i'm not really sure why, but sometimes when you hit aimed shot your opponents will jump away
from you in an attempt to dodge or something, but it puts distance, and
therefore a little more time on your side

There is a talent in the 2nd tier of Sharpshooter that makes AS do a knockback if they're within 10m. There are great talents in that 2nd tier, hard to pick which ones to take.

I played a gunslinger over the beta, and one thing I'm surprised you didn't use was the sticky grenade. I often found it useful to throw that out before i used aimed shot, i got at least 4 to 6 thousand damage in one shot doing that. I always made sure to have the blaster attack ready just in case i got interrupted because you have to shoot the person to make the sticky grenade go off.

Another one is the finish attack (can't remember the name) you can only use after your opponent is below 30%, really great finishing ability that hits pretty hard. If you use that and aimed shot or a couple charged bursts your practically guaranteed the kill.

I can't quite remember exactly when i got these abilities so maybe you didn't have them, but to anyone who wants to play a gunslinger those are some key abilities you'll find useful.

Great vid!
