Here at GAMEBREAKER, we cannot get enough of the next patch for Star Wars: The Old Republic. The whole panel for The Republic believes that this patch will add a lot to the game that should have existed at launch — on top of the extra content. The question, however, asks the same one that most players have already asked, “Why weren’t these things in back in December?” Our panel tied it to a number of possible factors. First, it’s possible that the BioWare team was looking to see how these systems would be used by the player before acting on it. For instance, they have said this of the guild system multiple times. Or it’s possible — setting possible developer ignorance aside — that the development team, frankly, had other priorities that took precedent. What are other possibilities?
The “Jesus patch” Update 1.2 for Star Wars: The Old Republic continues to make waves amongst fans, as we see from the reactions to the developer Q&A. Our experts from different places in gaming media — Darth Hater‘s Justin Lowe, Massively‘s Larry Everett, and Taugrim‘s Ed Park — discuss with Gary Gannon the impact of the game changes in this episode of The Republic!
