This week on The Republic the SWTOR news show, we have some financial info from the EA third quarter earnings call and… a whole bunch of worrying from the SWTOR forums.
EA’s third quarter earnings call is in and if you were hoping for numbers, there weren’t a lot. Nothing was said about subscriptions, active players or profit directly from SWTOR. However, it does seem that people have responded positively to SWTOR‘s free-to-play conversion.
Forum woes
In other SWTOR news… People have concerns, complaints, anything else that starts with a ‘c’?
First up are concerns about the lack of info on the upcoming expansion. It does seem small for an expansion, but we may have to face the fact that that’s all that will be coming out.
Next up. Apparently some of you would like to have animal mounts. Of course, there are some who seem to think that it might be a little silly to see an animal running at the same speed as a machine, but it could happen. Would animal mounts make EA more money?
Another player voices concerns that Bioware may decide to boot free-to-play members from servers whenever a paying player decides to log in. Would they really do this?
And finally… People want to know… Why does the cartel store get all the cool stuff. (My theory… Because people will pay for cool stuff.)
All that, plus your viewer questions round out this week’s episode. And of course, if you missed last week’s SWTOR news you can get it all here.
